Suranne Talks About Vincent

Thursday, March 09, 2006 - 11:24 AM

In an interview with Dianne Bourne, Suranne talks about being back in Manchester and filming VINCENT.

There's also plenty of excitement for Suranne's character, Beth, in Vincent - as this year she's got a sexy new image and more simmering sexual tenson between her and private investigator Vincent, played by Ray Winstone.

"The audience are like voyeurs onto Vincent and Beth. There's something there, but they don't know what's happening themselves," Suranne says. "Beth's getting sexy, she's got confidence."

She also talks about how close she is to Joe and the rest of the cast in an additional Audio Interview, which you can download HERE [right-click save-target-as].

Gangs Attack Trailers

Tuesday, March 29, 2005 - 11:19 AM

Gangs have attacked the trailers serving the cast of "Vincent":

FORMER Coronation Street star Suranne Jones was among actors besieged by thugs as they filmed a TV series.

The gang attacked trailer homes used by the cast of the ITV detective drama, Vincent, in Heywood, near Rochdale.

One trailer was damaged in the attack, which took place while the actors were filming at a railway station near a town centre estate.

Actor Ray Winstone, who featured in the film King Arthur, is believed to have been among stars on the set when the gang arrived.

Stones

The teenagers ran off after the attack at 5pm last Thursday, but returned to inflict more damage early on Friday.

None of the cast was hurt, although another trailer was damaged by stones.

In Vincent, Suranne stars as private investigator, Beth, alongside Winstone as Vincent Gallagher.

Suranne, who played Karen McDonald in Coronation Street before she left the soap two months ago, grew up in Middleton, near Heywood.

Since leaving the Street she has been on a break in Australia with actor boyfriend Jonathan Wrather.

Vincent is being filmed around Manchester until April.

New Project: VINCENT

Friday, January 07, 2005 - 1:28 PM

It has been announced that Joe is going to star in a new ITV1 drama called "Vincent", along side Ray Winstone and Suranne Jones. It is going to be a four-part series and filming will begin in Manchester at the end of the month.

Ex-Street Star Investigates New Role

Suranne Jones is to play a private investigator in her first role since quitting Coronation Street.

The actress will star opposite Ray Winstone in new ITV1 drama Vincent.

The pair play work partners in the dangerous world of investigations.

Jones, 25, quit her role as Coronation Street's Karen McDonald at the end of last year.

Millions of viewers watched her tearful exit from Weatherfield on Boxing Day.

She said: "I'm delighted I've got such a great job so soon after finishing on Coronation Street.

"It was a difficult decision to leave but this is exactly what I wanted to do. The script and the cast are fantastic."

Jones signed a big-money deal with Granada after leaving the soap.

Vincent will be filmed in Manchester - not far from the Coronation Street set.

"I imagined I'd be moving to London for work, so it's an added bonus that I'm able to stay in my home town to shoot Vincent," Jones said.

Filming on the four-part series begins later this month.

Winstone's character, Vincent Gallagher, is a workaholic who sees his job as a moral crusade, while Jones is his sidekick, Beth.

Former Coronation Street and Bad Girls star Eva Pope plays Vincent's ex and the series also features ex-EastEnder Joe Absolom.

The drama is from the same team who made the recent ITV1 series Island At War.
