Band roles beckon for soap veterans

A host of soap veterans are to appear in new movie, The Story Of _.

It centres on a frustrated music business executive who creates a controversial band. He then has to find a group of useless musicians to play the instruments.

It features Corrie veteran Lee Boardman, best remembered as drug lord Jez Quigley.

The supporting cast includes Joe Absolom, aka Matthew in EastEnders and Finlay Robertson.

He played a character called Ollie North in The Bill last year.

His Story Of co-stars include Catherine Steadman (another Sun Hill veteran) and Andy Jones also appeared in Doctors.

Jones was last seen in an episode of Casualty in June.

EastEnders fans will spot Ameet Chana, who played Adi Ferreira in the Walford soap.

And look out for Rik Mayall who, like many of his co-stars, has also paid a trip to Sun Hill.

Ten years ago he played a character called Patrick Massie in a three-part story called Humpty Dumpty.
