Synopsis: In the Christmas Special, Portwenn suffers an invasion of tourists, eager for a sighting of a rare bird discovered nesting on Aunt Joan’s land. Aunt Joan wants to keep the bird a secret to protect it from prospective egg thieves. But Dr Ellingham lets slip to the local baker, who seizes the opportunity to revive his ailing business by making it a new attraction. The village is torn apart, and Dr Ellingham is caught in the crossfire from angry locals. Bert Large is unwittingly caught up in criminal activity, and his son Al is anxious to prove himself so he can propose to Pauline. Meanwhile, Chris O'Dowd (The IT Crowd) has joined the cast as a "dodgy newcomer" to the village. The Doc Martin Christmas Special airs.. well, this Christmas. (source: Digital Spy)
